Deliverables & Scope

  • → Managed hosting configured for your stack, with caching, compression and PHP or Node versions set correctly for your application
  • → SSL certificate installed and auto-renewing, plus HTTPS enforcement and a fix for any mixed content that breaks the padlock after migration
  • → Domain registration or transfer in your own name, with DNS records documented in a plain-English zone file so you know what every record does
  • → Uptime and response monitoring with alerts to your email or phone, and off-site daily backups with a tested restore path rather than an untested one
  • → Email deliverability setup: SPF, DKIM and DMARC records configured, which is the part most hosting providers leave you to guess at

Post-Delivery

  • → 30-Day Bug Warranty
  • → Source Files & Ownership
  • → Handover Training Session

FAQ

Web hosting & domain management FAQs

How much does hosting and domain management cost?

Plans run from $100 to $500 per year in USD, or A$150 to A$700 per year. A brochure site with modest traffic sits at the bottom. High-traffic stores, larger databases or a managed application server sit at the top. Domain registration is usually $10 to $20 a year and is passed through at cost, not marked up. All prices are annual, matching the plan shown on this page.

How long does it take to move our site to you?

A standard migration is 2 to 4 working days, scheduled so DNS changes go out on a low-traffic day. We take a full backup, stage the site on the new server, test every page, then switch DNS and monitor for 48 hours. Complex setups with mailboxes, subdomains or a live store can take a week, and we do those as a planned cutover rather than a same-day switch.

Who owns the domain and hosting account?

You do, always. The domain is registered in your name with your email as the registrant contact, and the hosting account is yours to access. We manage it, we do not own it. If you leave, you keep the domain, the hosting, the SSL and your backups, and we will help with the transfer. Never accept a provider registering your domain in their own name.

What does support cover, and what costs extra?

Your annual plan includes monitoring, backups, SSL renewal, security patching for the hosting layer, and fixing anything that goes down through no fault of your own. New sites, extra domains, mailbox setup beyond the included accounts, migrating a second application or cleaning up a hacked site are quoted separately. If a plugin you installed breaks the site, we restore a backup and then you decide whether to pay for a proper fix.

Should we use cheap shared hosting or a managed plan?

Cheap shared hosting is fine for a small brochure site with low traffic, and we will say so rather than upselling. It falls apart on WooCommerce stores, membership sites and anything with concurrent logged-in users, where noisy neighbours on the same server cause slow responses you cannot diagnose. Managed hosting costs three to five times more but gives you isolated resources, staging environments and support that actually investigates.

Can you guarantee 100 percent uptime?

No, and no host can. We target 99.9 percent and our monitoring logs show when we miss it. Outages come from the data centre, DNS providers, upstream networks and your own code, and only some of those sit within our control. What we do commit to is alerting you fast and telling you plainly what broke, rather than reporting a green status page while your site is down.
