FAQ

Real estate & proptech platform FAQs

How much does a real estate and proptech platform cost?

Typical builds run from $4,000 to $20,000 USD, or A$6,000 to A$28,000 for Australian clients. A focused single-market portal with map search, listing management and lead capture sits at the lower end. Multi-agent dashboards, saved-search alerts, MLS or third-party feed imports and mobile apps push toward the upper end. We quote a fixed price after a scoping call, so the number does not move mid-project.

How long does a property platform take to build?

A single-market portal with listings, map search and an admin dashboard takes 6 to 10 weeks. Adding agent accounts, saved-search email alerts or an external listing feed adds 3 to 5 weeks. If you have an existing data source, feed integration is often the longest single item because we have to map your schema before writing any UI. We work in two-week blocks and show you a working staging site every fortnight.

Who owns the code after the project finishes?

You do. On final payment we transfer the full source repository, database schema, design files and any API keys or third-party accounts to your name or your company. There is no licence fee and nothing calling back to our servers. You can hand the code to another developer and they will have everything they need.

What happens after launch, and is support included?

Every build includes 30 days of bug fixing at no cost, covering anything that does not behave the way we specified. Fixing a search filter that returns the wrong results is a bug. Adding a new filter, a new listing type or an integration with a second CRM is new work and gets its own quote. After the 30 days you can move to a monthly support plan or pay per request, whichever suits you.

Can the platform pull listings from an existing CRM or MLS feed?

Yes, if the provider exposes a documented API or an XML, JSON or CSV feed. We have built and run a live property platform, so we know the awkward parts: deduplicating records, handling images at scale and dealing with fields that arrive in inconsistent formats. If your provider has no API and no export, automated sync is not possible and we will say so rather than fake it with screen scraping.

Do you build native mobile apps as well as the web portal?

The web portal is responsive and works well on phones, which covers most browsing traffic. Native iOS and Android apps are a separate build and roughly double the budget and timeline. Mapbox renders differently on native, and app store review adds weeks you cannot control. For most agencies a well-built mobile web portal plus saved-search email alerts converts better per dollar than a native app.
