FAQ

Online reputation management FAQs

How much does reputation management cost?

$400 to $2,000 USD per month, or A$600 to A$2,800 per month. The lower end monitors two or three platforms and drafts responses for you to approve. The upper end covers several locations, active review generation and content work for what appears on page one of your brand search. This is a retainer, not a one-off, because reputation is a moving target.

Can you remove a negative review?

Only if it breaks the platform's rules, such as spam, hate speech or a review from someone who was never a customer. Platforms reject most removal requests, and there is no legitimate service that can guarantee deletion. What works is responding publicly and well, then pushing the review down the page with newer content and more recent positive reviews. Anyone guaranteeing removal for a fee is either lying or about to do something that will make things worse.

What if the complaint in the review is true?

Then the response should acknowledge it and say what changed. Buyers read negative reviews to see how a business behaves when something goes wrong, not to find a company with a perfect record. A reply that admits a mistake and describes the fix often does more for conversion than the review damages it. We will not write a defensive reply on your behalf, and we will push back if you ask for one.

How do we get more reviews without breaking the rules?

Ask every customer, at the right moment, with a direct link that takes two taps. We set up the request message, a short URL and a QR code for physical locations. What we will not do is buy reviews, offer discounts in exchange for them, or filter out unhappy customers before they can post. Those tactics breach Google's policy and can get your Business Profile suspended, which costs far more than the reviews were worth.

How long before we see improvement?

Review responses start working immediately, since they are visible to anyone reading the listing. Your average rating moves over three to six months once a steady flow of new reviews arrives. Suppressing old negative content from search results takes longer, often six to twelve months, and depends on what the content is. A news article is harder to move than a forum post, and we will tell you honestly which category you are dealing with.

Who owns the content and the monitoring setup?

You do, including the response templates, the review platform accounts and the reporting. We work from your accounts rather than ours, so a change of provider does not lose your review history or your reply access. Everything we write is yours to reuse and adapt after the retainer ends.

Do you handle reputation for a business with no reviews at all yet?

Yes, and that is often the easier starting point because there is no backlog to manage. The work is setting up the right platform profiles, building the review request habit into your existing customer process, and making sure the profiles are complete and consistent. Getting from zero to twenty genuine reviews takes about two months of consistent asking.
