FAQ

Shopify / WooCommerce setup FAQs

How much does a Shopify or WooCommerce store cost to set up?

Setup projects run from $700 to $3,500 USD, or A$1,000 to A$5,000. A themed store with under 100 products, standard payment and shipping, and no integrations sits near the bottom. Large catalogues, heavy theme customisation, subscriptions, multi-currency or ERP stock sync push toward the top. Platform subscription fees are separate and paid directly to Shopify or your host.

How long does the store take to go live?

Most stores are live in 1 to 2 weeks, which matches the timeframe on this page. That assumes your product data, images and payment account are ready when we start. If you need photography, copywriting or a supplier feed cleaned up first, expect 4 to 6 weeks. We will not launch a store with placeholder products on a live domain, because that damages your indexing from day one.

Who owns the store, theme and product data?

You do. The Shopify store or WooCommerce installation sits in your account, on your domain, with your payment gateway credentials. Custom theme code, product data and configuration are yours to keep. We take collaborator access while building and hand full ownership back at completion, so you can move to another agency or developer without an export fight.

Is support included after launch?

You get 30 days of bug fixing after go-live. If checkout miscalculates shipping or a variant selector breaks, that is on us. Platform updates, new product uploads, seasonal theme changes, adding a new payment method or a new integration are new work and quoted separately. Many clients take a small monthly care plan for product uploads and app maintenance.

Shopify or WooCommerce, which should I pick?

Shopify if you want low maintenance, reliable hosting and checkout you do not have to secure yourself, and you accept its transaction fees and opinionated structure. WooCommerce if you need deep content control, a large catalogue with unusual taxonomy, or you already run WordPress and want no per-sale fees. WooCommerce puts hosting, security and plugin conflicts on you, which is a real ongoing cost of time rather than money.

Can you migrate our existing store without losing SEO rankings?

Yes, with 301 redirects mapped product by product from your old URLs to the new ones, which is the part most migrations get wrong. We preserve titles, meta descriptions, image alt text and structured data, and we submit both sitemaps to Search Console. Some short-term ranking movement is normal after any platform change and usually settles within 4 to 8 weeks. We cannot promise zero loss if your current site has thin or duplicate content.
