FAQ
Payment gateway integration FAQs
How much does payment gateway integration cost?
Between $500 and $2,500 USD per gateway, or A$700 to A$3,500. The lower end covers a standard hosted checkout with webhooks. The upper end covers subscriptions, saved cards, multi-currency pricing, and reconciliation against an accounting system. Each additional gateway is cheaper than the first, because the checkout layer and webhook handling are already built and the second provider mostly slots in beside it.
Which gateways do you work with?
For Bangladesh, bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz, AamarPay and shurjoPay. Internationally, Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay and Adyen, plus local methods like iDEAL or Bancontact through Stripe where they matter. We implement whatever your finance side has already agreed with the provider, since commercial terms and settlement currency are your decision rather than ours.
Do we need PCI DSS compliance?
If you use a hosted checkout or tokenised fields where card data goes straight to the gateway, your compliance burden is light and is covered by a short self-assessment questionnaire. If card numbers ever pass through your own server, the requirements become substantial. We build the first way by default. It is less work for us, less risk for you, and there is rarely a good reason to handle raw card data.
What happens when a payment succeeds at the gateway but the order is not created?
That is the failure everyone worries about, and it is why webhooks are treated as the source of truth rather than the browser redirect. If the customer's connection drops after paying, the webhook still arrives and creates the order. We also run a scheduled job that queries the gateway for recent transactions and repairs any order that did not get created. Payments do occasionally get stuck in a pending state, and the reconciliation job is what catches them.
How long does integration take?
One to two weeks for a single gateway with a standard checkout, including testing against declined cards and refunds. Three to five weeks for several gateways with subscriptions, saved cards and reconciliation. Approval from the gateway provider is often the longest part, and it is entirely outside our control. Stripe can approve in days. A Bangladeshi merchant account can take two to four weeks and requires documents only you can supply.
Who owns the integration, and what about gateway fees?
You own the code, the gateway accounts and the merchant relationship. Gateway fees are set between you and the provider, typically somewhere between 1.5 and 3.5 percent plus a fixed amount per transaction depending on country and card type. We do not take a cut of your transaction volume and we are not a reseller for any provider.
How are refunds and disputes handled?
Refunds are built into the admin so your team can issue them without contacting us, with the gateway notification logged against the order. Chargebacks are different. The gateway notifies us through a webhook, we surface it in your admin with the deadline, and you supply the evidence. We build the plumbing but we cannot win the dispute for you, since that depends on your delivery records and terms.
