FAQ
Blockchain & smart contract dev FAQs
How much does blockchain development cost?
US clients pay $6,000 to $35,000 and Australian clients pay A$9,000 to A$50,000. A single audited token contract with a simple claim page sits at the bottom. A DeFi protocol with staking, a frontend, and multi-contract architecture sits at the top.
How long does a smart contract build take?
Four to eight weeks for a standard contract with tests and deployment. Add two to four weeks if you book a third-party security audit, because audit firms have their own queue.
Who owns the contracts and the keys?
You own the source code and every deployed contract. We never hold your private keys. For admin or upgrade keys we set up a multisig under your control before deployment.
What happens after launch?
We stay available for 30 days to handle deployment issues and verify the contract behaves on mainnet. Beyond that, changes mean a new deployment or an upgrade, so we quote that as separate work.
Do you audit the contracts you write?
We write tests and do an internal review, but self-auditing has a real conflict of interest. For anything holding customer funds we recommend an independent audit, and we can introduce firms. Budget $5,000 and up for that, separately from our fee.
What happens if a contract has a bug after deployment?
If it is upgradeable, we can patch the logic behind a proxy, though that adds trust assumptions your users should know about. If it is immutable, the contract cannot be changed and the only remedy is migrating to a new address. This is why we push for thorough testing before mainnet.
Which chains do you work with?
Ethereum, Polygon, Base, BNB Chain, and Solana. Gas costs and tooling differ a lot between them, so we pick the chain based on your use case rather than defaulting to Ethereum.
