Aperio Studios is a Calgary, Canada based video production company specializing in content for the web. Started in 2008, we combine the most talented individuals and the highest quality equipment to the end that we shall provide unique and creative video solutions for our clients.
Principals
Evan Thies (Video Editor & Web Video Manager)
Evan is the technical cornerstone of Aperio Studios, and has always had an affinity for motion media. Since his early years he has followed through with related education and has a solid portfolio to reflect this. He has worked on several projects with companies specializing in video production and is well versed in the usage of Final Cut Studio, Adobe Creative Suite 4, video compression and encoding, web development and graphic design. He holds a diploma in New Media production from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Evan also does some of the videography for Aperio. With several years of experience behind the camera, Evan uses film techniques such as framing and composition to tell a compelling story. He has also done work in the online media industry including audio and video podcasting, online video marketing, blogging, social media marketing and search engine optimization.
Dwight Thies (General Manager & Producer)
Dwight joins the Aperio Studios team with over 6 years of experience as a production assistant for several commercials and short films filmed in the Calgary area with Aperio as well as other production companies. He brings to Aperio Studios a wealth of experience in scriptwriting, logistics and location scouting.
He is well versed in the usage of production technologies such as Final Draft 8, iMovie, GarageBand, Final Cut and After Effects and also serves as a videographer and assistant editor and provides the arrangements for the provision of actors for both the production as well as any voice-over requirements. He also has a particular interest and penchant for musical arrangement in the production process. Dwight holds a BA in Geography from the University of Calgary, and is fluent in English, French and German.
